Travel Insurance
The Sports Confederation of Greenland has a collective travel insurance policy through Gouda Travel Insurance, designed to provide peace of mind and security for everyone travelling on behalf of the Confederation.
The insurance covers coaches, team managers, officials, athletes, and members of national sports federations and clubs when travelling in the interests of GIF.
What Does the Insurance Cover?
The insurance includes coverage for:
- Acute illness and necessary medical treatment
- Repatriation in the event of illness or injury
- Accidents and personal safety
- Baggage (including loss, theft, and delays)
- Specifically: Injuries sustained during training sessions, competitions, and sporting events organised under GIF
Important Information
- The insurance does not apply to travel within Greenland.
- In the Nordic countries, the insurance generally covers expenses that are not already covered by public healthcare agreements.
Before Departure
It is recommended that travellers bring relevant documents, including:
- Passport
- Travel itinerary
- Insurance information
You should also be familiar with the designated contact persons for the trip.
In Case of Illness or Injury
- Seek medical assistance and inform the team manager or trip leader.
- Keep all documentation and receipts.
- Contact Gouda in serious cases requiring assistance or support.
