The Board’s work is guided by GIF’s purpose, policy programme, and strategic priorities, and is carried out in close cooperation with the Secretariat, the national sports federations, and other key partners. Its focus is on creating the best possible conditions for sport in Greenland, ranging from children’s and youth sport to elite sport, volunteer development, and capacity building.
The Board consists of five members elected by the Representative Assembly. Together, they bring broad experience in sport, leadership, organizational development, and societal affairs.
The Board works on both long-term strategic objectives and current priorities, including cooperation with municipalities, the Government of Greenland (Naalakkersuisut), and national and international sports organizations.
