A Strong Partner

Coherent Sports Development Across Greenland

The Sports Confederation of Greenland works purposefully to be a strong and professional partner for municipalities, organisations, and national stakeholders. Through expertise, process support, and hands-on project development, we contribute to the advancement of sport, physical activity, facilities, and communities throughout Greenland, from small settlements to larger towns and cities.

Our partnerships are based on local needs and shared ambitions. The goal is to create coherent and sustainable sports initiatives that can be anchored locally and generate lasting impact across Greenland.

Close Cooperation with the Municipalities

The Sports Confederation of Greenland collaborates with all four municipalities and actively contributes to both strategic development and the practical implementation of initiatives.

Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq

Collaboration on the development of sports facilities, local projects, and capacity building for leisure and recreation consultants in the capital region.

Qeqqata Kommunia

Joint initiatives that strengthen sports associations, develop parasport opportunities, and implement GAME Greenland in towns and settlements across Central Greenland.

Kommune Kujalleq

Process support for sports policy development, facility planning, and practical projects that ensure access to sport and physical activity in communities across Southern Greenland.

Avannaata Kommunia

Partnerships focusing on the development of sports communities, volunteer engagement, and innovative projects in Northern Greenland, with a focus on both towns and settlements.

National and Strategic Cooperation

In addition, the Sports Confederation of Greenland maintains a close strategic partnership with Elite Sport Greenland, coordinating initiatives related to talent development, coach education, and national and international sporting events.

This collaboration creates a clear connection between grassroots sport and elite sport, strengthening the overall Greenlandic sports system.

From Local Action to National Impact

Through strong partnerships, we work to ensure that sports initiatives are connected across different levels and geographical areas. We contribute through:

  • Knowledge and analysis as a foundation for decision-making
  • Process support for policies, strategies, and action plans
  • Development and testing of concrete projects
  • A strong focus on quality, sustainability, and local ownership

Together, these efforts help create stronger, more sustainable opportunities for sport and physical activity throughout Greenland.
