The Greenland Sports Confederation (GIF) is the umbrella organization for sport throughout Greenland. Its members consist of both national sports federations and clubs without a federation, which together form the foundation of sport across the country. This membership structure ensures that both established sports and emerging initiatives have the opportunity to develop and grow.
Today, there are 143 registered sports clubs and associations with a total of 11,496 active members.
The national sports federations are the governing bodies for each sport in Greenland.
A national federation:
The national federations therefore play a key role in ensuring structure, quality, and development within each sport. They also work closely with GIF through strategic development agreements that support participation, competence development, and club development.
There are currently 9 national sports federations with a combined total of 10,104 active members.
Clubs without a federation are members of GIF even if their sport is not yet organized under a nationwide governing body. These may include:

There are currently 20 sports clubs and associations without a federation, representing a total of 1,392 active members.
