Who Makes Up the Representative Assembly?

The Representative Assembly consists of:

• Three (3) representatives from each of the nine (9) national sports federations (specialized sports associations), and
• The five (5) members of the Board of the Greenland Sports Confederation (GIF).

This gives a total of 32 delegates.

How Many Votes Does Each Federation Have and Who Can Participate?

Each national sports federation is represented by three (3) delegates, giving each federation three (3) votes in the Representative Assembly.

The Representative Assembly meets once a year, typically in October or November. At the meeting, proposals for amendments to the statutes are considered, the annual accounts are approved, and elections to the GIF Board are conducted.

The Representative Assembly is responsible for:

• Adopting and amending the statutes governing Greenlandic sport,
• Electing the members of the GIF Board,
• Reviewing and approving GIF’s annual accounts and budget.

The Representative Assembly meeting is open to the press and other interested observers.
