Triathlon in Greenland

Swimming, cycling and running in unique arctic surroundings

Triathlon is a diverse and challenging sport that combines swimming, cycling, and running. In Greenland, the unique natural environment creates special conditions for the sport, where both climate and terrain add an extra dimension to training and competition.

While triathlon can be practiced individually, many athletes benefit from being part of a club community where they can train across all three disciplines and develop alongside others. Clubs play an important role in providing motivation, structure, and opportunities to participate in training sessions and competitions.

Triathlon Greenland

Triathlon Greenland is a key organization for triathlon in Greenland, bringing together athletes who share a passion for the sport. The club works to create an open and inclusive environment where both beginners and experienced triathletes can participate and develop.

Based in Nuuk, the club offers activities and a supportive community across all three disciplines while contributing to the growth and development of triathlon in Greenland.

Training and activities

Triathlon Greenland offers activities focused on:

  • Swimming training, developing technique, endurance, and confidence in the water.
  • Cycling training, both indoors and outdoors depending on the season and weather conditions.
  • Running training, improving fitness, endurance, and race performance.
  • Combined training sessions (brick workouts), where transitions between disciplines are practiced to simulate race conditions.

In addition, the club organizes social activities and events where members can test their abilities, gain competition experience, and connect with fellow athletes.

Training sessions are adapted to different experience levels, ensuring that both beginners and experienced athletes benefit from participation.

Information and updates are typically shared through digital platforms, where members can find details about:
