KVK was founded in 1983 and is a member of the international governing body FIVB (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball).
Greenland’s national volleyball teams have participated in qualification tournaments for the European Championships, also known as the Small Nations Cup. Greenlandic national teams also compete in the Arctic Winter Games and the Island Games.
The Greenland Championships (GM) are held for both youth and senior categories.
The federation has a total of 816 active members and 12 active sports clubs across Greenland.
