The Football Federation, known as Kalaallit Arsaattartut Kattuffiat (KAK), was founded in 1971 and follows the Laws of the Game established by The International Football Association Board (IFAB).
For many years, the federation has worked towards membership in the international football governing body FIFA and continues its efforts to achieve this goal. The federation currently has 4,225 registered members and 36 affiliated sports clubs.
The Greenland Championships are held for youth, senior, and veteran (old boys) categories. In addition, a Children’s Cup is organized for children under the age of 14.
The Greenland national team participates in the Island Games and other international sporting events.
