The Greenland Ski Federation (SK) is Greenland’s oldest sports federation, founded in 1969. It was established during the chairmanship of Daniel Skifte, at a time when new federations were being created and existing ones were being renewed.
Later, three committees were established under the federation:
The federation is not a member of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). Despite this, Greenlandic skiers have participated in the Winter Olympic Games, competing for Denmark. Greenlandic athletes have taken part in the Olympics in 1968, 1992, 1994, 1998, 2014, and 2018.
Official Greenland National Ski Championships are held for youth, adults, and veteran (old boys) categories. In addition, a Children’s Cup is organized for younger participants.
The federation has a total of 1,168 active members, distributed across 10 affiliated sports clubs.
